Download Adobe Reader for Windows 2000
To download the Adobe Reader for Windows 2000 version, all you need to do is:

The Adobe Reader – Download page will open, as shown in Figure 5-2-1.

Select the Windows 2000 version of your computer (2000 SP4 - SP2, 2000 SP1 or 2000) from the drop down menu.
Note: To download Adobe Reader 6.0 under a Windows 2000 version from Adobe Reader – Download page, you have to select 2000 SP1 or 2000 from the drop down menu.
You can also download Adobe Reader 6.0 from 2000 SP4 - SP2, or from other operating systems or versions. But for doing this, you have to click on the Choose a different version link in the Adobe Reader – Download page. After selecting 2000 SP1 or 2000 in the Adobe Reader – Download page, click on the continue button.
Step 2 of 2 Adobe Reader Download Process will open on the same page, as shown in Figure 5-2-2.
Scroll down to Step 2 of 2 in Adobe Reader – Download page. By default, the other download options such as Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 and Adobe Yahoo Toolbar are checked, as shown in Figure 5-2-2.
Uncheck these download options in Step 2 of 2 of Adobe Reader Download Process in Adobe Reader – Download page.

Click download button. As soon as you click on the download button on the Adobe Reader – Download page, the File Download window pops up, as shown in Figure 5-2-3.

Click on the Save button. This option will allow you to save a file, which will finally download the Adobe Reader installation file on your computer.
The Save As window will open. Select Desktop from ‘Save' in the drop down menu, to save the downloaded file on the Desktop, as shown in Figure 5-2-4.
Note: You can select any other path as well. But, it is suggested to select the Desktop, as it is easy to locate a file on the Desktop.

Click on the Save button.
The ‘file download progress' window will open and you can view the progress of the download process, as shown in Figure 5-2-5. Check the box, Close this dialog box when download completes, to close the box automatically.
Note: If you keep it unchecked, click on the Close button after the download is complete.

After the download is complete, you can see an icon with the name AdbeRdr60_DLM_enu_full.exe on the Desktop, as shown in Figure 5-2-6.

Locate Adobe Reader On Computer
Select the Windows 2000 version of your computer (2000 SP4 - SP2, 2000 SP1 or 2000) from the drop down menu.
Note: To download Adobe Reader 6.0 under a Windows 2000 version from Adobe Reader – Download page, you have to select 2000 SP1 or 2000 from the drop down menu.

Click download button. As soon as you click on the download button on the Adobe Reader – Download page, the File Download window pops up, as shown in Figure 5-2-3.

Click on the Save button. This option will allow you to save a file, which will finally download the Adobe Reader installation file on your computer.
The Save As window will open. Select Desktop from ‘Save' in the drop down menu, to save the downloaded file on the Desktop, as shown in Figure 5-2-4.
Note: You can select any other path as well. But, it is suggested to select the Desktop, as it is easy to locate a file on the Desktop.

Click on the Save button.
The ‘file download progress' window will open and you can view the progress of the download process, as shown in Figure 5-2-5. Check the box, Close this dialog box when download completes, to close the box automatically.

After the download is complete, you can see an icon with the name AdbeRdr60_DLM_enu_full.exe on the Desktop, as shown in Figure 5-2-6.

Locate Adobe Reader On Computer
Double click the AdbeRdr60_DLM_enu_full.exe icon on the Desktop.
Now the actual file download will start, as shown in Figure 5-2-7.

Note: The file download will take 15 minutes to 1 hour depending upon the speed of the Internet connection of your computer system.

As soon as the ‘File' is successfully downloaded on your computer, Netopsystems FEAD Optimizer window will appear, as shown in Figure 5-2-8. This window shows the optimization process of the operating system you have selected at the time of Adobe Reader Installation file download.
Don't worry! You have nothing to do at this moment. It is only an internal optimization of your system.

Download Adobe Reader for other Operating System
To download the Adobe Reader on any other operating system or Windows version rather than 2000 or language, follow these steps:
Click on this URL http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
The Adobe Reader – Download page will open, as shown in Figure 5-2-1.
If you have any other operating system or Windows version rather than 2000, click on the Choose a different version link.
‘Download new and previous versions of Adobe Reader' page opens, as shown in the Figure 5-3-1. In this page, you can select the appropriate operating system, version, and language. The following guidelines will help you to find out the correct options:
Operating System: Select the Operating System of your computer. For example, if Windows ME is installed on your computer, select Windows ME.
Version: Select the correct version.
Language: Select the language that you want to use for the Adobe Reader. If you use English, select English.

After selecting the appropriate operating system, version and language, click continue button.
Step 2 of 2 of Adobe Reader Download Process will open on the same page.
Scroll down to ‘Step 2 of 2 in Download new and previous versions of Adobe Reader' page. Select a version of Adobe Reader that you want to install by clicking on the radio button next to it, as shown in Figure 5-3-2.

Click download button. As soon as you click on the download button on the ‘Download new and previous versions of Adobe Reader' page, the File Download window pops up, as shown in Figure 5-2-3.
